Australia has some great stories. Now there's a place everyone can explore them. The National Museum of Australia is the first in the country devoted to teling stories about Australia and Australians. Situated on the shores of Lake Burley Griffen in the nation's capital, Canberra, the National Museum of Australia doesn't look like a museum or feel like one. Instead it uses state-of-the-art technology and hands-on interactive exhibitions to explore Australia's past, present and future and its many cultures - including the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander gallery in the country. Take a personally guided tour using the latest headset technology. Experience our exhibitions, cafes, waterfront restaurant, our magnificent shop and more. The museum offers something for every age and interest. General admission is free - fees apply to temporary exhibitions and some public programs. Open daily (except Christmas Day) 9am-5pm.
