Dubbo Travel Guide
Dubbo accommodation, Dubbo activities and attractions, Dubbo maps, transportation to and around Dubbo - the ALL NEW Jasons Dubbo Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Dubbo.
Dubbo is located on the banks of the Macquarie River, at the geographical heart of
NSW. It is the commercial, industrial and administrative hub of the central west, and one of
Australia's fastest growing inland cities. Explorer John Oxley noted the rich agricultural potential of the area when he passed through in 1818; it now produces $45 million worth of food and agricultural goods annually.
One of Dubbo’s major drawcards is the Western Plains Zoo where the emphasis is on breeding endangered species. Visitors can see 800 exotic and 1000 native animals living freely in habitats surrounded by moats rather than fences.
