Glebe is a vibrant alternative community south-west of the
Sydney CBD. The diverse and multicultural residents include a large student population, bohemians, activities and intelluctuals. Glebe is home to the Malacological Society of Australasia, which promotes the study of molluscs (such as octopuses and snails). The

The Glebe Street Fair in November each year and is one of Sydney's oldest street fairs, attracting around 120,000 people to enjoy stalls, food and entertainment along Glebe Point Road.
