Daly Waters Travel Guide
Daly Waters accommodation, Daly Waters activities and attractions, Daly Waters maps, transportation to and around Daly Waters - the ALL NEW Jasons Daly Waters Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Daly Waters.
Daly Waters has two parts – the roadhouse on the main Stuart Highway at the turnoff to Borroloola, and the old Daly Waters pub and airstrip 3km to the west. The Daly Waters pub is one of the Territory's most famous watering holes and one of its oldest buildings, clad in corrugated iron and bougainvillea.
Daly Waters, once a stopover for drovers and workers on the overland telegraph line, also has the distinction of being
Australia's first international airfield with an amazing aviation history. It was a centre for the London to
Sydney air race of 1926, a refuelling stop for the original Qantas flights to Singapore, a World War II airforce base and more recently an operational base for joint military manoeuvres.
