  Canoeing and bushwalking in Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) National Park. Information, permits and maps may be obtained at the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre within the park.
• Cutta Cutta Caves
  500-million-year-old limestone caves home to rare orange horseshoe and ghost bats.
• Edith Falls (Leliyn)
  On the edge of the Arnhem Land escarpment are Edith Falls.

  The culturally and environmentally significant Flora River Nature Park.

  O’Keeffe House and the Railway Museum, and the historic Springvale Homestead, now part of a tourist resort and campground.
• Mataranka
  100km south of Katherine is Mataranka. The replica of Elsey Homestead is located at the Mataranka Homestead Tourist Resort, which also features Mataranka Thermal Pool, Mataranka Falls, Stevie’s Waterhole and the 4km botanic walk through the Elsey National Park.
• Knott’s Crossing
  The historic landmark of Knott’s Crossing, site of the Overland Telegraph Station.
• Katherine Museum
  Originally the airfield terminal during 1944-45, today it is Katherine Museum.
