Things to Do in Tennant Creek & Surrounds

• The Devils Marbles
  Part of the Devils Marbles Conservation Park, 104km south of Tennant Creek, these giant boulders were believed by Aboriginal dreaming to be the fossilised eggs of the rainbow serpent,

  The Aboriginal sacred site Kundjarra, 12km north of Tennant Creek.

• Historic reserves
  The restored stone buildings of the Tennant Creek Telegraph Station and the Barrow Creek Telegraph Station. The John Flynn Memorial stands at the Three Ways, 25km north.
• Battery Hill
  The historic gold ore crushing plant which gives the site its name is the only operating battery in Australia to offer guided tours. 
• Mary Ann Recreational Dam
  Just 5km from town, this man-made oasis is popular for picnics and barbecues, bushwalking and bird-watching.
• The Tuxworth-Fullwood Museum
  Built in 1942 as an army camp hospital, the museum now houses memorabilia of the gold-rush days.
• The Jurnkurakurr Mural
  Painted by Aboriginal people as a community arts project, this impressive mural In the heart of town depicts the dreaming of the Warumungu people.
