Beerburrum is renowned as the gateway to the scenic
Glass House Mountains, located 59 km north of
Brisbane on the
Sunshine Coast,
Queensland. There are some key attractions nearby that make Beerburrum a worth while stopover; the Glass House Mountains National Park, Mathew Flinders Park, Wild Horse Look out and Beerburrum State Forest and Forest Reserve that is made up of stunning exotic pine plantations, open forest, rainforest and coastal wallum remnants.
If you do decide to scale Mount Beerburrum, which is part of the volcanic crags sticking up from the coastal plains known as the Glass House Mountains, keep in mind it has also been climbed by Matthew Flinders, who could not resist the challenge of scaling Beerburrum on an expedition in July, 1799. These peaks were

believed by Aborigines to be a family of mountain spirits.
There are some stunning walks and picnic areas around the area that provide views over the coastal lowlands, but take insect repellent. Industries around the area include pineapples, small crops, agriculture and tourism.
