Beerwah forms part of a collection of small towns namely
Beerburrum,
Glass House Mountains, Beerwah,
Landsborough, Peachester and
Mooloolah on the
Sunshine Coast,
Queensland. It is also part of the Glass House mountain range and is located on the Glass House Mountains tourist route midway between Glass House Mountains and Landsborough.
It is easily accessible from the Bruce Highway and from the Old Bruce Highway. It the gateway to the western towns of Peachester and
Kilcoy. Beerwah is on the edge of the Blackall Mountain range, approximately an hour by car or train from
Brisbane. It has reasonable access to
Noosa,
Caloundra,
Nambour,
Bribie Island, Lake Summerset and the Blackhall range on the west including
Montville,
Maleny and
Mapleton.
Beerwah was originally a farming community and may once have been dense forest, the primary farming industry in the region includes pineapple, citrus fruit, tobacco, macedamia nuts, pure organic products and limited grazing.
Beerwah has a golf course, a train station, shopping centres and
Australia Zoo which was the home of the late Steve Urwin. You may also fly to
