• Rockhampton

• The heritage gold and copper mining town of Mount Morgan, 38km south-west of Rockhampton, with historic buildings, museum and tours of the former mine site.

• Emu Park
  The Coast's second-largest centre and site of the famous Singing Ship Monument.
• Great Keppel Island

  Fossick for gems at the Sapphire Gemfields, which encompass the towns of Anakie, Sapphire, Rubyvale, and Willows Gemfields. Licences are available on the fields or from the Department of Mines and Energy in Emerald.
• Farm-stays where guests can join in the daily routine of a working cattle station, including mustering stock.
