Cow Bay Travel Guide
Cow Bay accommodation, Cow Bay activities and attractions, Cow Bay maps, transportation to and around Cow Bay - the ALL NEW Jasons Cow Bay Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Cow Bay.
Cow Bay is nestled between some of the most stunning parks in
Tropical North Queensland - the World Heritage rainforest areas of the
Daintree,
Cape Tribulation National Parks and the Great Barrier Reef.
Located 2 hours drive north of
Cairns, Cow Bay was named after the Dugongs (sometimes known as Sea Cows) that graze on the sea grass meadows in the bay.
The area is rich in rare flora and fauna, colourful butterflies and the endangered cassowary,
Australia’s second largest bird. Cow Bay is off the tourist route, so chances are visitors will have its three palm fringed bays and beautiful inshore reefs to themselves. Cow Bay also has the only pub on the east of the Daintree River.
