9 - 20 January
XXXX GOLD Beach Cricket brings the world’s cricket legends to an Australian setting – the beach. Twenty-five of the world’s best from Australia, England and New Zealand will be competing on Australian beaches in Coolangatta for the title of XXXX Gold Beach cricket Tri-Nations champions.

Bull Riding World Titles and Country Music Spectacular:
9 - 13 January
Held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and presented by the National Finals Rodeo. World professional cowboys and cowgirls take on Australia’s toughest bulls for a world title. ANZ Ladies Masters Golf Tournament:
7 - 10 February
The richest women’s golf tournament in the southern hemisphere, the ANZ Ladies Masters will see almost 150 of the world’s best golfers from some 20 countries compete at Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort. Champion Karrie Webb has taken home the trophy in six out of her ten attempts. In 2008, the world’s best will return to challenge the title.

Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Surfing:
23 February - 5 March
The world’s best surfers battle for supremacy in the first WCT sanctioned event of the year. The Quiksilver and Roxy Pro’s are staged annually on the Gold Coast where officials choose the location for the best surf. Australian women have held the Roxy Pro title for the past three years against intense international competition.

Gold Coast Triathlon:

The Gold Coast Triathlon – Luke Harrop Memorial is a sprint event that attracts serious triathletes from Australia and around the world. The 2007 winners included Australian Brad Kahelfeldt, and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, and Liz Blatchford from the UK.
