This iconic Australian holiday destination begins 30km south of Queensland’s capital city Brisbane, then extends 80km further south to the border of Queensland and New South Wales. Within these 
boundaries lie some of the world’s best beaches, historic mountain towns and villages, commercial nerve centres and millionaire marinas.
Northern Gold Coast
Home of historic villages, an island getaway and an exclusive millionaires’ marina, the Northern Gold Coast is the perfect contrast of the history and future. Settled in 1864, the historic village of Beenleigh is a living relic from the Gold 
Coast’s agricultural past. With its stretches of sugar cane and colonial architecture, Beenleigh still embodies the rustic charm of an Australian country town, and is home to Queensland’s first Aboriginal Museum, The Yugambeh Museum – Language and Heritage Research Centre.
A few minutes to the east you will discover one of Australia’s most unique ecological gems, South Stradbroke Island. You can celebrate its natural beauty in the comfort of one of two resorts, including Couran Cove Island Resort and South Stradroke Island Resort.
Just a quick ferry trip back to the mainland and you can discover the restaurants, marine facilities, speciality shops, hotels and championship golf courses of Sanctuary Cove. A quick trip further south uncovers new worlds of entertainment. All located within minutes of each other are Dreamworld, Warner Bros. Movie World, Wet ‘n’ Wild Water World, and the Australian Outback Spectacular will allow you to discover why the Gold Coast is renowned as Australia’s theme park capital.
Gold Coast Broadwater 
The Broadwater provides a protected playground for every watersport from high speed jetboating, parasailing and jet skiing to fishing, guided tours and cruises. Families can enjoy fishing for bream, whiting or flathead alongside international yachts from every corner of the globe.
Main Beach
Just across the river from Southport and north of Surfers Paradise, Main Beach is a stylish and wealthy area offering a delicious variety of activities, alfresco dining and unique shopping experiences. Tedder Avenue is a local favourite with a wealth of chic restaurants and cafés. Offering a vista of multi-million dollar elegance Main Beach’s calm waters are bordered by opulent residences. Conveniently located among these residences are some of the Gold Coast’s most magnificent apartments and hotels – all just a short walk to the sands of Main Beach.
Surfers Paradise 
From a remarkable stretch of golden sand, renowned surf and a soaring city skyline to world-class shopping and a year-round event calendar, Surfers Paradise is the playful heart of this iconic Australian area, with a wealth of activities and accommodation. The streets are filled with hundred of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, duty free stores, day spas, art and image galleries, fashion houses, jewellery boutiques and entertainment for all ages.
One of Australia’s leading retail precincts, Surfers Paradise offers tree-lined boulevards shading names such as Cartier, Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Bally, Hermes, Paris and Salvatore Ferragamo. With late-night shopping offered every evening, retail therapy can extend until 9pm. Each week Surfers Paradise has an event featuring everything from Cinema on the Beach to international sport and music events.
Broadbeach
Home to many of the region’s hottest nightlife venues, the streets and boulevards of Broadbeach are the Gold Coast’s cosmopolitan hub. Just south of Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach offers world-class dining in unique alfresco settings, trendy shopping boutiques, beachside accommodation and an excellent stretch of white, sandy beach.
Broadbeach is also one of Queensland’s key shopping destinations and is the location of Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, with more than 300 department and specialty stores to tempt shoppers. This area’s vibrant cosmopolitan feel is enhanced by landmark entertainment venues including Conrad Jupiters Casino and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre that host local and international touring shows, events and acts.
Southern Gold Coast
With safe beaches and excellent swimming and surfing conditions, the Southern Gold Coast is one of the city’s most beautiful and family-friendly destinations. Stretching from Broadbeach to the border where Queensland and New South Wales unite, the Southern Gold Coast encompasses a number of smaller communities that have attracted Australian families for many years and are now welcoming an increasing number of international families.
The Southern Gold Coast is home to unique areas such as Burleigh Heads, Coolangatta, Currumbin, Kirra, Greenmount, Rainbow Bay, Mermaid Beach and Miami. Its southern location affords each beach majestic sweeping views of the coast and Surfers Paradise’s cityscape skyline.
Western Gold Coast
To the west of the coastal strip lies a lush bush and hinterland region that offers visitors an alternative to the sand and surf in the form of a collection of uniquely Australian villages nestled in hectares of ancient forests and national parks. The area’s many natural attractions include 100,000 hectares of World Heritage listed reserves and hundreds of kilometres of walking tracks, and the many charming villages make the region a truly accessible experience.
Tamborine Mountain towers over three heritage communities, Mount Tamborine, North Tamborine and Eagle Heights. At the centre of the villages lies the Tamborine Mountain National Park and its Gallery Walk, a unique stretch of galleries, restaurants and antique and craft stores.
