Kings Beach is a popular beach near
Caloundra, on the
Sunshine Coast,
Queensland. Named after the King Family, who were the first residents in the area around 1893, Kings Beach is one of the few beaches protected from northeast winds, which makes it ideal for sheltered swimming when the wind is up.
Regarded as one of the Sunshine Coast’s safest beaches, Kings beach is patrolled all year round and a tidal saltwater swimming pool is a great feature useful for escaping chlorine swimming pools. Towards the point there is some good snorkelling, and when there is a large South East swell and light north winds there’s good surf. Up the hill are some great views of the surrounding coastline, and there is also a BBQ and Picnic area at Kings Beach.
