  • The main draw card of Landsborough has to be the excellent local history museum which features a great collection of early Australian memorabilia and an insight into the towns fascinating history. It’s one of the largest social history museums between Gympie and Brisbane and is said to be one of the finest and most comprehensive folk museums in Australia.

Recreation

  • Speed freaks will enjoy The Big Kart and Bungy Bullet which is one of Australia’s biggest and fastest go-kart tracks with 60 motorised go-karts. If being shot 50 metres into the air in one second takes your fancy try the Bungy Bullet - you’ll enjoy a thrust of 4 Gs.
  • Omaru Archery Park has 25 three dimensional targets, nestled in the shaded walking tracks through state forest and rainforest. Visitors can camp within the grounds (camping facilities are provided) and can also enjoy swimming in the natural water holes, and freshwater fishing for golden perch, silver perch and bass. Saltwater fishing, 4WD and horse riding are also available by arrangement.

Zoos and Parks

  • Nearby is the renowned crocodile farm known as Australia Zoo. Kids will enjoy the daily demonstrations involving crocodiles, snakes and birds of pray.
  • Located to the south-east of Landsborough are the pine forests of Coochin Creek State Park. Call in here if you are weary of over-populated parts of the hinterland.

Shopping

  • There are brilliant markets held at Peachester at the foot of the Maleny Plateau every Sunday.
  • Markets are also held at Landsborough each Saturday morning from 8.00 am.
  • The Landsborough Heritage Festival is held in October.
