Mission Beach a true treasure to discover and is situated on 14kms of pristine golden sandy beaches and is the gateway to the Family Group of Islands. Located approximately mid-way between Cairns and Townsville, it is one of only two places in Australia where two World Heritage areas meet the Wet Tropics rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Rainforest walks are where visitors may chance upon the endangered cassowary, Australia s largest flightless bird. Walking trails are between 1.5km and 7km and suit all levels of fitness. Boats leave Clump Point jetty and boat ramp daily for the Great Barrier Reef and the water taxi and Ferry operate to Dunk Island, a short 4km across the water. Get active with a range of adventure activities such as skydiving, rafting, kayaking, horseriding and much much more.
