Moffatdale is one of the key centres of the South Burnett wine trail, in Queensland Australia. Close by to other wine trail hubs such as Redgate and Murgon, Moffatdale is a picturesque town with many attractions such as some of Queensland’s largest vineyards, wineries and olive groves. Moffatdale is also home to numerous modern B&Bs and Farm stays. It’s unusual name comes from the German immigrants who first settled the area.
If you tire of touring the many wineries, The Olive Farm provides a refreshing alternative. The 350 acre olive grove has 37,000 trees and rests on the banks of the Bjelke Peterson Dam. This dam is fed its fresh water from the surrounding Bunya Mountains, producing wonderful soils for growing olives.
