Mount Garnet is a sleepy town on the southern edge of the
Atherton Tablelands, in
Tropical North Queensland. Located about 165km from
Cairns, Mount Garnet is little more than a couple of pubs and service stations, and shows little evidence of the industrious mining that took place at the turn of the century.
