30km North of Brisbane CBD
Historic beachside suburb overlooking Moreton Bay
Redcliffe is a holiday oasis that boasts breathtaking beaches and scenic foreshore parklands, as well as bay and mountain views. Redcliffe is linked to the city of Brisbane by a 2.8km causeway. The original viaduct, built in 1935 from ironbark logs, still exists as a footbridge and bikeway, and is a popular fishing spot. Redcliffe has 22km of coastline, which is ideal for swimming, fishing, boating and cycling. Its rocky red headlands have views of Bribie, Moreton and Stradbroke Islands. Redcliffe is the site of Queensland's first European settlement, a penal colony established in 1824.
