- The Toowoomba Tourist Drive No 1 – fine heritage architecture including City Hall and the Royal Bulls Head Inn (built in 1859 and now a National Trust museum).
- A self-guided Tombstone Trail of the local cemetery, exploring the region’s early pioneering history
- The Big Rig Trail at Roma, celebrating the history of Australia’s oil and gas industry with stories, photos, facts and objects in a variety of multi-media exhibits. The Big Rig complex houses a visitor information centre, shop and café and is located on the banks of Bungle Creek, with landscaped picnic facilities and playground. A feature is the spectacular night show.
- Chinchilla Folk Museum – one of Queensland’s best, featuring a large display of Chinchilla petrified wood. The original slab cottage Wongongera: the 1883 Chinchilla State School building and the many other buildings in the grounds contain diverse displays ranging from the Prickly Pear story, restored vehicles and small engines to horse-drawn vehicles and a vast array of memorabilia from the past.
