Recognised as the
Gold Coast's central business district, this town was established in 1875. Situated across the Nerang River from
Surfers Paradise, it overlooks the
Broadwater and
Stradbroke Island and is sheltered by Broadwater Spit. Here visitors can find calm waters, popular for watersports such as parasailing and boating, as well as picnic areas and children's playgrounds.
