Find Your Space on the Sunshine Coast
The
Sunshine Coast begins at
Caloundra and extends northwards to Cooloola, the gateway to
Fraser Island. This expansive location is characterised by diversity with a refreshing contrast between the alluring beaches of the coast and the natural country charm of the hinterland. With a maximum average temperature ranging from 22-29 degrees, the Sunshine Coast is an enticing destination throughout all four seasons.
Tee off in paradise
Picturesque scenery and a fantastic climate greatly enhance the golfing experience on the Sunshine Coast. Courses are both varied and challenging and include a mix of championship and regional golf clubs.
Club Pelican is an ideal location to play on a championship course. Designed by Greg Norman, the course features expansive views of the Glass House Mountains rising in the distance. The Hyatt Regency Coolum has some spectacular views to enjoy and is host to Australia’s premier golfing event, The Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship. Further north, tee off at Peregian Springs or visit the lush setting of Noosa Springs Resort, which also incorporates a lavish new day spa.
Twin Waters Golf Club is an exceptional 18-hole par 72-championship course and is internationally recognised as one of the top six resort courses in Australia. Native bushland is home to kangaroos, which can often be seen bouncing across the fairways at dusk.
For something a little different try Kabi Golf Course. Australia’s only organically certified course is a haven for recreation while also conserving the environment.
Healing space
Soothing sounds, time on your side, a herbal tea and healing hands. The Sunshine Coast is a healing sanctuary naturally inducing relaxation, revitalisation and regeneration.
Feel your tensions evaporate and transcend the worries and cares of everyday life. If tranquillity is what you crave then lose yourself in a health retreat or book into an Asian style spa. For a treatment unique to the Sunshine Coast, experience a Cooloola sand and sea salt scrub leaving your skin smooth and blissfully scented.
Reconnect and harmonise your mind, body and soul. Make the pilgrimage to
Chenrezig Buddhist Institute at Eudlo or discover a deeper level of inner peace at a yoga class.
In-store selection
Perhaps you prefer to start your day with a visit to one of the many colourful markets held across the Sunshine Coast. “Make it, bake it, grow it or sow it” is the motto of the famous Eumundi Market, held each Wednesday and Saturday.
Sandy escapes
The reputation of sweeping beaches, rolling surf, dazzling sands and crystal blue water has established the Sunshine Coast as a premier destination for the classic beach holiday.
Find your space at one of the many wondrous beaches spanning the entire length of the Sunshine Coast. Activities range from various water sports to the more adventurous horse riding and even camel riding on the beach. A particularly special occurrence is the sighting of a whale during the migrating season of July – November. In any event there is always the opportunity for a peaceful and relaxing stroll at sunset.
