Things to Do in Clare Valley

Wineries

• Wine tasting and cellar door sales at some of the 32 wineries. Some of the more popular are Tim Knappstein Wines, Leasingham Wines, Jim Barry Wines and Mintaro Cellars. Historical relics at the National Trust Museum, which is housed in an old police station. The Riesling Trail from Clare to Auburn, which follows the old railway line and can be taken on foot, horseback or bicycle. Clarevale, a winery museum and restaurant complex housed in the old Clarevale Winery.

Sheep properties

• Visits to the working sheep properties of Bungaree Station (est 1841), Geralka Rural Farm, noted for its Clydesdale horses, and Wolta Wolta Homestead, which features a fine collection of colonial furniture.

Police Museum

• Old Police Station Museum, in Clare's oldest building (1850) on the corner of Victoria Rd and West Terrace.

Parks

• The recreation reserve at Inchiquin Lake.

Lookouts

• Admire the view from lookouts at Neagles Rock and Billy Goat Hill.
