Kangaroo Island Region Travel Guide

Kangaroo Island Region accommodation, Kangaroo Island Region activities and attractions, Kangaroo Island Region maps, transportation to and around Kangaroo Island Region - the ALL NEW Jasons Kangaroo Island Region Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Kangaroo Island Region.

Kangaroo Island is an area of outstanding natural beauty. As an island, it has suffered less than mainland areas from the impact of European development and possesses rich and diverse flora and fauna seldom found elsewhere.

The island covers an area of 4500 square kilometres, and more than one third is devoted to national and wildlife conservation parks. Seal Bay Conservation Park protects a large colony of sea lions and at Flinders Chase National Park visitors can see kangaroos, koalas and New Zealand fur seals in the wild. The island has 251 recorded bird species with a diverse range of habitats to explore, and the spring months of September and October reveal spectacular flowering of much of the flora. Kangaroo Island is also a gourmand's delight – sheep milk, cream and cheeses, honey from pure Ligurian bees, corn-fed chicken, marron and fresh seafood can be enjoyed in local restaurants or purchased to take home.
