  • The 80km Cradle Mountain Overland Track, from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair. The trek takes 5–7 days and walkers may take fully escorted and catered tours or carry their own equipment and camp out or stay in huts along the way.
  • Waldheim Chalet, built as a holiday retreat by park pioneers Gustav and Kate Weindorfer in the early 1900s.
  • Abundant wildlife, including wombats, endemic Tasmanian birds, wallabies and nocturnal marsupials, and the unique Tasmanian Devils.
  • Trout fishing in the lakes and streams, open for fishing between July and April. Licences are required.
