The Forest EcoCentre, situated at the entrance to Scottsdale, houses an interactive forest interpretation centre that focuses on the landscape, forest communities and history of Tasmania's North East. This distinctive structure is a building within a building, able to control its own environment with the aid of natural air flows and an indoor forest that creates its own microclimate. Enjoy a coffee or light meal in the cafe while you plan your North East adventure. Our friendly local volunteers will provide you with all the information you need to experience the wonders of this diverse region. The EcoCentre Shop features local arts and crafts from the region. Open seven days a week 9am-5pm December to April and 10am-3pm April to November. Closed on Christmas Day.
