A studio flat with its own kitchenette and ensuite provides the primary accommodation so guests can self cater if they wish. Two internal bedrooms with bathroom and toilet provide extra accommodation where guests are catered for by the management. By prior arrangement, main meals are available although surrounding townships have food outlets. Travellers can accommodate their pets in an enclosure. Wireless internet is available for emails. There are local walks with swimming in the Leigh River nearby. Kangaroos and wallabies abound in the Inverleigh flora and fauna Reserve. Shelford has a long Victorian history as squatters settled the area from 1835 onwards but since the 1950's, soldier settlement subdivision created smaller farms. Evidence of the changes over this time are recorded in the heritage buildings, various memorials and the local cemetery. Golden Leigh Bed and Breakfast is somewhat unique to the architecture of the district since most buildings are built from the basalt rock which abounds or from timber where as the original owners chose rammed earth as the construction method. The 300mm thick walls provide a barrier to the outside and many guests have commented on the peaceful atmosphere and the uninterrupted sleep they have enjoyed. Shelford has a reticulated water supply.
