Listing Details
The Crow's Nest is an intimate resort of individual villas among bougainvillea vines, hibiscus blooms and tall coconut palm trees, which face the famous Coral Coast living coral lagoon. The villas are on terraces, each with a magnificent view of the lagoon and ocean. There is ample space - each villa has a split level design, with sleeping and living areas as well as cooking facilities. The decor is nautical because of the original owner's love of the sea and this is especially evident in the poolside restaurant which is uniquely decorated with old charts, brass and copper artifacts, and antique ships accessories. The resort was built as a romantic rendezvous between the late Paddy Doyle - one of Fiji's tourism personalities - and his girlfriend (later his wife) Julie. The couple were often separated because of their different business ventures so Paddy built the Crow's Nest at Korotogo near Sigatoka, halfway between where they each worked. Thus the lovers were reunited and (as the storybooks say) lived happily ever after! ... And Fiji gained an intimate, romantic resort. The resort has recently been extensively upgraded and refurbished to meet discerning standards, but maintains its nautical origins.
