• Tadine
  Tadine is Maré's main centre and also home to the Port of Maré.
• Natural Aquarium
  Located near Tadine, this natural seawater pool is teeming with marine life.
• Cengeite & Wabao Villages
  With their coconut palms, thatched huts and stunning beaches, this south-western corner of the Maré is a must for visitors.
• Saut du Guerrier (Warrior's Leap)
  Legend has it that local warrior Here Hnor, when cornered by the enemy, leapt across this 5km gap in the cliff.
• The Leperhouse Well
  This 50m well opens into one of the deepest underground freshwater lakes in the world.
• Trou de Bone
  This 40m deep limestone cave is one of Maré's most impressive sinkholes. The sheer sides drop to lush garden and a small waterhole.
• La Roche
  This village is known for its lovely pink-hued Catholic church, built in 1866, which sits at the base of a 90m-high limestone cliff. A path north of the church leads up the cliff for stunning views over the village and sea.
• Yeiwene Yeiwene Cultural Centre
  Located 2km from La Roche, this traditional Melanesian-style complex houses an exhibition room and library.
• Beaches
  Excellent beaches can be found at Tawainedre, Peneloi, Medu and Metche.
• Snorkelling
  Maré's sheltered bays are rated as some of the best snorkelling spots in New Caledonia. One of the best is Baie de Pede, near Cengeite. A pleasant 3km walk leads from Nengone Village to the bay.
