  • Ilot Maitre
    Amedee Lighthouse © New Caledonia TourismThis lovely weekend retreat just 15 minutes from Noumea lies at the centre of a huge underwater reef, offering superb diving. 
  • Ilot Amédée
    One of the most popular trips from Noumea, the island's historic 56m-high lighthouse was built during the reign of Napoleon III. The clear waters of the lagoon offer good diving and snorkelling, or you can take a glass bottom boat tour.
  • Isle of Pines
    Located off the South Coast of the main island, this pine-covered island is famous for its pristine beaches, caves and fantastic snorkelling and diving. 
  • Blue River Provincial Park
    This 9000 hectare plant and wildlife reserve in the Southern Province is a bushwalker’s paradise with picnic and camping spots, river swimming and walking tracks. Visitors must make a reservation with the Noumea and Southern Province Tourist Office not later than 24 hours prior to their visit.
  • Horse Riding
    Koné, on the west coast of the Northern Province, has excellent horse riding terrain, and there are stables 2km north of town. Full day rides with lunch are available. 
  • Lindéralique Cliffs
    These jagged black limestone cliffs start 9km south of Hienghène Village in the Northern Province. Reaching 60m high, they are topped by razor-sharp edges. Visitors can explore the area’s many hidden coves and caves, which have swallows and flying foxes.
