If you're looking for great snow and an incredible location to match, Temple Basin Ski Area is ideal. Located on the main divide of the Southern Alps, at the centre of the
Arthur's Pass National Park, Temple Basin is one of the few places where you can literally roll out of bed and straight onto the slopes. In the winter months, Temple Basin's sunny, north-west-facing slopes collect sun, deep snow and wonderful powder.
Spread over four basins, with 320 hectares of skiable terrain, Temple Basin offers everything from gentle slopes for beginners to adrenalin-pumping bowls, basins and chutes to challenge the most advanced. There is night skiing and boarding. The Temple Basin carpark is located beside State Highway 73, 4km west of Arthur's Pass Village. A 45min walking track takes you up to the Lodges and the field, offering stunning views of the Pass, and there is a free baggage lift for gear.
