These beautiful gardens at Manurewa contain more than 10,000 plants and a huge variety of stunning themed areas. Experience the wonder of ancient tree species at the Gondwana Arboretum, or go for a stroll and enjoy the magnificent collections of palms, roses, camellias and magnolias. The Wiri Rambler makes a 30 minute tour of the gardens every Sunday (weather dependent) from 12-3pm in autumn and winter, or you can join the free guided tour of the garden's collections on Wednesdays at 1pm. To get to the gardens from the CBD, take the southern motorway, come off at the Manurewa/Hill Road exit after Manukau City, turn left onto Hill Road and the entrance is the first driveway on the left. Open daily 8am-6pm (winter).
