Spanning both banks of the mighty Clutha River, Balclutha is dominated by the impressive arched concrete bridge that links the town centre with State Highway 1. Nicknamed the Big River town, Balclutha lies at the junction of the Matau and Koau tributaries and makes a great base for fishermen.
