Bay of Islands Country Rock Festival 2008
This festival features good music and friendship in the stunning setting of the Bay of Islands of New Zealand - one of the top tourist spots of the country. Each year the festival features more than 60 acts from New Zealand, and overseas performing at multiple venues.
Street music and line dancing are also popular features, enjoy the vibe. Three-day pass allows entry to all venues and free shuttle between venues.

Kete Weaving Workshop

Bronnie Harford teaches traditional Kete Making. Using flax you will weave your own kete. Materials supplied, everyone leaves with a complete article.

Bay of Islands Jazz & Blues Festival
8 - 10 August 2008
Every year the Bay of Islands comes alive with the sounds of smooth jazz and sultry blues, as musicians gather from all over New Zealand and further afield for the annual Bay of Islands Jazz and Blues Festival. The many venues in Paihia, Russell and Haruru Falls host over 150 hours of quality jazz and blues during the three day event starting with street music on 8 August from midday. There are more than 35 acts featured.
Street performances in the towns of Kawakawa, Paihia and Russell each morning add to the flavour of the festival. This year there is also a jazz steam train. Entry badges give you entry to all venues over the three days and a shuttle bus between each. Limited to 2500.
