Mt Pleasant Homestay offers you warm and friendly hospitality in a new and modern home. The views are wonderful. Come and enjoy the vista with refreshments on arrival. Guests assure me that breakfasts are delicious, again while taking in the sea and mountain views. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know my guests, sharing travel experiences and talking about life. This is a relaxed homestay having a maximum capacity of four guests and you can be as private as you wish. For your comfort, there is a separate lounge for guests and, if you want to prepare your own food and have a night in, a fully equipped kitchen also. You can make tea or coffee at any time.

Groups travelling together find this an ideal environment as all their rooms are on the ground floor allowing them to be together. These rooms also open out to the patio and garden, and barbecue which you are welcome to use.

The garden which I enjoy is young but blooming.

A very good restaurant is within walking distance, and many others a short drive away at Sumner (of Lonely Planet fame) and Ferrymead. Also, about five minutes away is the Christchurch Gondola, Tamaki Old Christchurch and Pa, a 9-hole golf course and driving range. Lyttleton harbour is a short drive through the tunnel or over the famous scenic road accessed from Mt Pleasant Road. There are walkways on the hills above and on the water there is the opportunity to go windsurfing, kiteboarding and surfing. Lessons and equipment are available.

Christchurch is the Garden City of New Zealand and it is beautiful all seasons of the year, with much to see and do. The city centre is only 11 minutes by car.

A private apartment is available, queen room with ensuite, lounge and kitchen ($200 incl breakfast).
