    Visit one of the largest model railways in New Zealand and sample unique organic cheeses.

    The local 18-hole golf course is very picturesque and is boarded on the western side by the Makakahi River.

    There are many sporting activities to be done in town, including swimming in the local pool, tennis, rugby, soccer, hockey and bowling.

    This museum is located in the first school that was built in Eketahuna in 1890. A visit to the museum is a great way to discover the history of the area. There is an excellent display of memorabilia, photographs, costumes and artefacts. 
  • Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre
    This is the center for conservation of endangered wildlife and environmental education. Here, you can view rare wildlife that can no longer be viewed on mainland New Zealand.
