Fairlie Travel Guide

Fairlie accommodation, Fairlie activities and attractions, Fairlie maps, transportation to and around Fairlie - the ALL NEW Jasons Fairlie Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Fairlie.

Fairlie is widely known as the gateway to the Mackenzie Country and Mount Cook, a spectacular combination of alpine lakes and mountain scenery. Founded in 1866, it has a rich agricultural history and today services the surrounding farming district. Graceful old trees add to the town's beauty, giving a wonderful display of blossoms in the spring and rich hues of red and gold in the autumn.

In winter, Fairlie becomes a base for the neighbouring skifields of Mount Dobson and Fox Peak, and ice-skating is also popular. Among Fairlie's sporting facilities are an 18-hole golf course and an ice-skating rink. You can also enjoy the fishing in the rivers and lakes of the Mackenzie Country.
