Foxton lies the small community of Foxton Beach. Sister city to the town of Foxton, Foxton Beach lies on the coast at the mouth of the Manawatu River. Foxton beach, with its white sands and abundant fishing opportunities is a popular holiday spot.

Manawatu Estuary is a well known conservation area and an excellent birdwatching spot. Species you will see include the wrybill, oystercatcher and royal spoonbill. There is an endless number of water activities to be enjoyed at the beach including swimming, kayaking, waterskiing, fishing, surfing and boating. There are several good walking tracks nearby, as well as horse riding and 4WD treks.
