Jo is a wildlife ranger with extensive knowledge of the local plants and birds; Julie is a schoolteacher and we are trampers and bird enthusiasts.

Breakfast choices include our specialty fresh fruit crepes, free range eggs, homemade bread or toast and cereals, choice of spreads, fruit juice, perked coffee and a variety of teas.

Ribbonwood Retreat is just minutes from the Franz Josef village and ten minutes drive to the glacier. We are close to Okarito wetlands and beach hikes and only a half-day drive from either Wanaka or Christchurch.
