Watch them dive and manoeuvre around and under your kayak, paddle with them as they swim around the peninsula hunting for octopus, then stay clear as lunch is devoured in front of you and the leftovers cleaned up by New Zealand's widest variety of seabirds. Half day 'seal kayaking' tours are suitable for all ages and abilities. No experience necessary. 7 days a week. Summer 8.30am, 12.30pm, 4.30pm. Winter 9am and 1pm; 16 people per tour. Shuttle provided. $85 adult, $70 child
