Kaitaia Travel Guide
Kaitaia accommodation, Kaitaia activities and attractions, Kaitaia maps, transportation to and around Kaitaia - the ALL NEW Jasons Kaitaia Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Kaitaia.

Kaitaia is the visitor hub of
the Far North and the region's largest commercial centre. Numerous tours are available from the town, one of the most popular being the trip along the sweeping sands of Ninety Mile Beach to
Cape Reinga. Tobogganing or quad-biking on the sand-dunes is an exciting option on some tours.
Kaitaia has a rich history and cultural diversity which includes Maori and Dalmatian communities. It was the site of a Maori village as early as 1832 but it was during the 1880s and 1890s, when kauri gum diggers were active throughout
Northland, that the settlement blossomed. The Far North Regional Museum contains some interesting relics of the kauri industry. Nearby
Ahipara provides fishing, boating, swimming, golfing and surfing.
