Wellsford, Kaiwaka lies alongside the Kaipara Harbour and is accessible to all the wonderful attractions of
Northland.
Kaiwaka was first settled by Europeans in 1859 but is also an ancient Maori canoe portage. It was once a busy place with many arrivals from the sea, but is today more of a service centre for the surrounding towns. The lighting of the town is beautiful as many of the businesses have decorated their buildings with fairy lights that sparkle in the night sky.
