Stretching down the west coast of

The river town of
Dargaville is the Kauri Coast's main settlement and a good base to explore the region's attractions, including the beautiful Kai Iwi Lakes, the vast stretch of west coast beaches and the historic Kaipara Harbour. To the south is
Ruawai, famous as New Zealand’s Kumara Capital,
or travel north of Dargaville to
Waimamaku, at the foot of the historic
Hokianga Harbour.
