The island is 12km NE of Kerikeri, (follow the brown tourist signs) and approached via a causeway from Rangitane Road. Quiet, secluded natural environment where the brown kiwi is protected and preserved. A coastal bush trail circuits the island and with 2 park-style camping areas, 1 with small swimming beach. The facility block in the upper camping field has 3 toilets, 2 showers and a washing-up room with fridge/freezer. Indoor accommodation: Inlet View Lodge with shared kitchen, lounge/diner and toilet facilities; Cottage sleeps 6 with ensuite; bunk-bed room sleeps 6, shared accommodation with adjacent toilet, use campground showers. Indoor meeting centre with kitchen and toilet facilities, internet access. Dogs and cats are not allowed on the island and smoking is forbidden. Tariff: camping adults $15/night child under 12yrs $7.50/night; power extra $5/night; family rate 2 adults + 2 children $40/night; Inlet View Lodge with shared kitchen, lounge/diner and toilet facilities, single $60, double $90; cottage 2 adults $120, extra adult $20, extra child $15; bunk-bed room - sleep 6 adult $30, child $15, private use of room includes 2 adults $90, extra adult $20, extra child $15; all rates for 1 night and linen included for all accommodation.
