The cafe is only one hour's drive north of Auckland, and is the perfect place to spend a weekend - have a good meal or two, tour the brewery, go to the beach, catch a band and stay the night in a comfortable suite just 50 metres away.

With our gourmet woodfired pizzas and fresh fish, the Sawmill Cafe offers international cuisine with a unique New Zealand flavour. We source the best local wines and produce, organic where possible, providing people with healthy, balanced cuisine. We are fully licensed and offer an extensive wine and beer menu, a great cocktail list, health drinks and Matakana Roasters coffee.

The Sawmill has played host to a varied portfolio of live music over the last decade - and proudly supports New Zealand music.
