Things to Do in Mangonui

• Rangikapiti Pa Historic Reserve
  The reserve is of interest for its terracing and magnificent views of Doubtless Bay. The walkway from picturesque Mill Bay to the top of the pa is also worth doing.
• Old Oak Inn
  One of the town's oldest buildings, this historic coaching inn dates back to the 1860s.
• Cape Reinga
  With its historic lighthouse perched high above the meeting point of the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea, the Cape offers dramatic seaviews. The site is spiritually important for Maori as the departure point for spirits of the dead.
• Doubtless Bay
  The sandy, tree-lined beaches of Coopers Beach, Cable Bay and Taipa are just north of the town, offering swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, diving and other watersports.
• Karikari Peninsula
  The peninsula's beautiful sandy beaches - including Matai Bay, Rangiputa and Puheke Beach - are popular for picnicking, holidays and fishing. There are spectacular seaviews from the peninsula's high ground.
