Things to Do in Marlborough Sounds Area

• Picton
  A picturesque town, Picton is known for its placid waters, fishing, waterskiing and speedboat and rowing regattas. The town's museum has displays of the area's whaling past.
• The Edwin Fox
  A 19th century teak sailing ship undergoing restoration on Picton's foreshore, and the last surviving ship that carried convicts to Australia.
• Waikawa Marina
  A world-class marina facility 5km north-east of Picton, and the second largest marina in the South Island.
• Queen Charlotte Sound
  With its many bays and inlets, Queen Charlotte is the smaller of the two main sounds, and accessible by launch from Picton.

• French Pass
  A tiny settlement with a unique tidal pass. The area is well known as the haunt of the famous dolphin Pelorus Jack, which piloted vessels across Admiralty Bay from 1888 to 1912.
