Martinborough Travel Guide
Martinborough accommodation, Martinborough activities and attractions, Martinborough maps, transportation to and around Martinborough - the ALL NEW Jasons Martinborough Destination Travel Guide is your complete visitor guide for Martinborough.
Martinborough, lying an hour east of
Wellington, is surrounded by 24 vineyards and produces some of the country's best wine. The region is most famous for its dense, powerful Pinot Noir but can, to the surprise of some, also make impressive reds from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties. To celebrate the region's viticultural success, the village hosts the annual Toast Martinborough Festival. Here, you can do everything to do with wine including wine trails, wine tasting, buying and talking with the winemakers.
Should you tire of the wine, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy in the area. These include fishing, golf, adventure activities and exploring the region.
Martinborough has a number of
campgrounds and holiday parks catering to the needs of travellers enjoying a New Zealand camping holiday. Whether you're looking for a campsite to pitch your tent; a cabin; or a caravan park for your campervan / RV you'll find the widest choice here.
