• Golf
  The local 9-hole golf course is designed around natural water features, lakes and beautiful native trees.
• The Kauri Museum
  This award-winning museum contains authentic exhibits portraying scenes of how people lived, worked and relaxed in the kauri timber and gum era. There is a huge collection of kauri gum and photographs, and displays include mock-ups of kauri dams, wooden sleds and bullock trains.
• Paparoa
  Paparoa has a relaxed atmosphere with nice cafes, restaurants and shops. It hosts the exciting Northland leg of the World Rally Car Championships every year, attracting around 20,000 visitors to the town.
• Nikau Grove
  The local nikau grove is home to one of the few naturally occurring stands of nikau palms trees in New Zealand.
• Falls
  A short walk will take you to the beautiful Piroa Falls. This is a nice spot to spend the afternoon playing and swimming.
