Things to Do in Mosgiel

• Taieri Gorge Railway
  A feat of Victorian engineering, this dramatic rail journey travels 77km inland from Dunedin to Central Otago, a region steeped in goldmining history. Tickets are available at Dunedin Railway Station, and the train can be boarded at Mosgiel by prior arrangement.
• Taieri Golf Club
  The 18-hole Taieri Golf Club enjoys a peaceful setting among trees and a lake. The local Twelve Oaks club has nine holes and is located on the Taieri Plains.
• Mosgiel Velodrome
  This Olympic-size, 250m loop track is one of the world’s most modern concrete tracks.
• Otago Central Rail Trail
  These former sections of the Taieri Railway line run between Middlemarch to Alexandra and Clyde. The tracks have been taken up and the trail is now popular with mountain bikers, horse riders and walkers.
• Middlemarch
  North of Mosgiel, this historic gold rush town is a popular excursion from Mosgiel. During summer, the Taieri Railway also makes a stop here.
