During winter enjoy the 1800 hectares of lift-accessed terrain across New Zealand's two largest ski areas, Whakapapa on the north-western slopes and Turoa on the south-western slopes. Both ski areas cater to all levels of skier or snowboarder, with dedicated beginners areas, on a vast array of groomed trails and spectacular lift-accessed backcountry terrain.
